Fantastic Customer Service!!

It seems to me that we are all very good in this country at making a fuss when we receive bad customer service, but are we as quick to shout when we receive excellent customer service?

I don’t think so…

On that basis I Just wanted to put a little something together to recognise Sue, a wonderful lady that works at Horwich Leisure Centre.

As you know, I am training for my first Ironman in July and this week my training took me to the pool at Horwich for the first time.

I planned an early morning swim followed by a 100 mile bike as part of my training for the big day, so arrived at the leisure centre at 7.30 prompt excited to sample their aquatic delights.

On arrival I was shocked to notice that my mobile phone was completely dead.

Due to the fact that my watch is nothing more than a £9.99 argos special, I use the strava app on my mobile phone to record my cycling efforts,  and as any ‘would be’ ironman will tell you, if it ain’t on strava, it simply didn’t happen.

I was about to turn round at the doors and ‘abort mission’ but I thought I would chance my arm with the receptionist and see if there was any chance of her charging the phone for me whilst I went for a dip in the pool

I fully expected the receptionists answer to be the usual ‘sorry health and safety’ or ‘computer says no’ or just  ‘NO’ in that nonchalant tone that only someone sat on a reception desk can say it…

But to my surprise, a smiling Sue replied ‘Of Course, No Problem’ and took my phone into the back office to charge!

Not only that, but when she realised I didn’t have 50p for the locker, she leant me one!

Not only that, but she said that the next time I come in, I can have a free 7 day pass!!!

Now at this point, Sue didn’t know I was training for the Ironman, or this blog, or how important the phone was to me…

She just did it, because that is the type of lovely helpful person she is!!!

How much did I enjoy my swim that day?

How ace do I think Horwich leisure centre is now?

How many times will I be recommending it to people because of Sue (loads)

People like this just put you in a great mood that sets you up for the rest of the day!

My hope is that someone at the leisure centre sees this post and gives Sue the employee of the month award.

If they don’t currently have one, please make one and give it to Sue.

Thanks
